FACT at the NEFA in CT Nov 9 2019 SF said the song "BORN" is about him and his mom. His coming of age and needing to have more control and for her to let go.

“Amen”, aggressively funky, and heavy on the bass lines, protests religious dogma that perpetuates bigotry and discrimination, particularly against women and the LGBTQ community
“Born”, at once delicate and heart wrenching, is inspired by Fredericks’s relationship with his mother. Having entered the music industry at a young age, Sawyer’s mother took on the role of shielding him from much of the inherent stress, and this coming of age song is meant to reassure her that it’s ok to let him struggle, that it’s time to let go, so that he may grow.
“Flowers For You.” The song, which strongly represents the direction of the anticipated album, harkens back to the signature blues infused roots rock that first drew the nation’s attention, alternating heavily featured musicianship with biting self-deprecating lyrics sung with all the fierceness, rage, and frustration of a young man calling out his own shallowness and hypocrisy.

I think all of the above is being pawned off as fact but is force fed fiction IMO.

He or they or someone puts more restrictions on him than any record company would have. What blues roots rock. He's folk, or was. He never sang in rage and frustration before. He was mellow and deep not shallow. That was his signature.Yes it had a slight bite to the lyrics. Daddy, can you see me? Get a grip. Ok? Focus.

FACT> Don't Even try. Confirmed at Boston sold out shows that it is about his fans. More anger and rage over fans being attached to him and they are nothing but strangers to him so he wrote this hateful, nasty song for them and continues to sing it. They get the honor of his rage during the Holiday Season after they sold out his shows and contributed to his success . You just can't make this crap up folks. As if the declaration that he's enraged over his previous attraction to beauty wasn't enough. Run gf with no name reference, run!

Here we go again He didn't know "Born" was about his mother until he wrote the ending. So you write a whole song and not until the end is finished,EUREKA! I'm still in the womb. But he still hasn't come out. Delayed birth by 20 years. The timeline doesn't match your story Mr.Fredericks. The story coincides with the singer songwriters 'I need a story' gig.

I'll let you guys know if the album ends up being okay...I am odded out that he's releasing ANOTHER version of 4 Pockets... Because I wanted a physical copy I signed up for his patreon before the 31st to get it, and he sent out the tracklist. Its a 6 minute version, bluesier. I personally wasn't a fan. Album isn't terrible. If you didn't like Flowers For You you probably won't like the album. It leaned more to that than Born. I Am to Blame is terrible. My opinion though. My rated: 1. Lies You Tell 2. Flowers For You 3. Born 4. Days Go By 5. Amen 6. Stalker 7. Call It Good 8. Turning the Shoulder 9. Early in the Morning 10. 4 Pockets 11. Not My Girl 12. I Am to Blame

Born. (Both fact and fiction)
EE: How did you decide to tell the story that became the song “Born?”
SF: Well that song, it took me a little while. While I was writing that song, I didn’t realize it was kinda about my relationship with my mom. It dawned on me after my mom said, “This song is a story about us.”
I was like, “No, no,” but then I really listened to it, and yeah it is. But to share it was a little more sensitive because I wasn’t sure if I wanted people to know what goes on behind the scenes in my family life. So it was definitely difficult sharing that stuff but I was also kind of relieved to let people in that way.

Fact- Sawyer thinks "Stone" is just a song without any chorus, hook or bridge. Someone surely told him that. And now that insecurity rests in his unstable mind. Should I tell him, it's a tragic operatic chant? He's the jilted lover and he went and killed somebody again and buried them deep in the stone walls where they haunt him. (sippie fiction) but it sounds better.
