Are Sawyer's songs based on Fact or Fiction? "Don't Even Try"- FACT Song to be taken literally. Written after returning from the Good Storm Tour" Sawyer was very tired. Popular theory is it is directed at his fanbase. This notion sparked rivalry among TS snarkers staking a claim on it. A Good Storm-FACT - Written right after the voice. Sawyer identifies with it and finds it "uplifting". Just because you have everything, doesn't mean you will be happy. Doesn't work that way. Not My Girl- Fiction. No girl across the street. Purely imagination. Hide Your Ghost- Unknown. Sawyer prefers the song to be subject to interpretation, however he said his vision for the song was not in line with artist who was given free license to make the video. Video- Fiction Broken Home- Fiction. Sawyer comes from a loving home and upbringing. Purely imagination. Silent World- Fact. Song is an anti-war song according to family reporting on it.

So be it (Amen)- Fact- Angry song addressing non-specific Political or Religious topics of concern to the artist's own social activism causes. A cautionary statement usually precedes this song.
Should've Known Better- Fiction. Song Sawyer wrote to prove to the record company that he was capable of writing a good radio worthy pop song.

Bittersweet (bonus track) on deluxe and exclusive albums only- Fiction. Sawyer dislikes everything about this song and didn't want it on the album. He claims his vocals were hijacked against his will. These statements rendered the song a collectible. It has never been performed live, causing speculation his vocals may have been auto-tuned.

Stalker- FACT. Initially ,it was about an obsessed fan that tried to infiltrate his friend's list to get closer to him. Since it seemed to be an isolated incident and irrelevant to his mostly older fans, he later downplayed the significance of it and now describes it as a humorous piece.

I wonder which stalker it was, there were a few who seemed to want to push their way into his life, also Don't Even Try alludes to that. i don't want in his life, I just want music

Me too but he's comfortable in the circle of fire and that only feeds his insecurities telling him he's getting better. He went from prodigy, genius, champion, pro and now he's a self proclaimed unprofessional amateur. Stop the madness. Pull out the demo before OMW and remind people and yourself. All pros do covers too. Never went to school, so he shouldn't be looking for a grade. Just do it.

Side note- Sawyer asked co-writers to leave the room while he wrote because he was nervous. Could have conjured up the hidden ghost writer.

Red Memories- Fact. Sawyer wants the listener to interpret the song as they feel it. It doesn't tell a story but it does relay his own feelings. He feels he's on a steady path, neither a leader or a follower, just allowing himself to be.A deep inner reflection.
