www.tulsaworld.com/scene/features/a-minute-by-minute-tour-of-the-opening-day-of/article_7725054f-78b9-5391-864a-ea6c4391420d.html4:10 p.m.: How is this possible? JoAnn Barrett, waiting for the fair gates to open, said she is from Oklahoma City and has never been to Tulsa until now. What lured her and 14-year-old daughter, Shandi Johnson, to town? It was the opportunity to see “The Voice” champ Sawyer Fredericks perform. “I love his voice,” Johnson said. “He has such a perfect voice. I love his long hair, and the fact that he’s not much older than I am is perfect.” 6:22 p.m.: Mary Rozell of Tulsa and daughter Henrietta Rupe, 13, arrived at the Oklahoma Stage early to get a front-row seat. Henrietta wants to see Sawyer Fredericks because he knows “The Voice” coach Adam Levine, and she wants to marry Levine. 6:35 p.m.: Oral Roberts University sports information director Blake Freeland is walking the midway with his family. Wearing an ORU shirt, he’s representing the brand. 7:06 p.m.: Sawyer Fredericks is introduced and takes the stage. In the front row are three generations of fans from one family — Edie Rusden, 91, of Tulsa, daughter Peggy Harris, 68, of Tulsa, and great granddaughter Kellianna Harris, 18, of Adair. Armed with a guitar, he plays a brief set of original songs. 8:31 p.m.: The Fabulous Mid Life Crisis Band begins a performance at the Oklahoma Stage. Bass guitarist Jim Stunkard and Sawyer Fredericks, who was on the same stage a bit earlier, share a March 31 birthday, but Stunkard was born 55 years before Fredericks. The set begins with a cover of Wilson Pickett’s “In the Midnight Hour.”
