those look great, I think a longer cook would make them more crispy probably They tasted so good . I only had very little pre mix and I was hungry. So I just added a few things I had. I wasn't even expecting it to turn out so good. I possibly could have added even more cupcake to thicken it up. Or just cook longer, like you said. I only cooked them same you would for a regular waffle. I'll have to experiment more. I used unsweetened applesauce, which I love. The cupcake made it sweet and the applesauce made it fruity tasting, I'm gonna toast 2 more later that I have saved. Or wondering if to just re waffle them and see what happens

Apple Cake Waffle goodnews UPDATE:These tasted so good I decided to do what Ister suggested and add some flour to the mix and also cook a bit longer ( I cooked until the steaming stopped PLUS added 1 more minute cook time). I tested that and made another one for breakfast. It came out really good. I'm going to make a whole new batch soon and adjust all the ingredients , and then write them down. Here's a picture of the one I redid today. The outer part turned out crispy this time and the inside a nice texture that I would say was very similar to a banana bread. Now you can even add toppings to it also.

Black and Decker whisk that looks great, how did it taste? drill baby drill It tasted awesome, just like if you had put on ice cream and jam. BUT, still something not quite right, because after they cool way down they become too chewy (my opinion} not flaky , as say like a muffin. It could be the EGG, I'm just not sure. I'll think I'll make a batch next time with out the egg. I'll have to experiment more. But the taste is right on. Had 2 of them with coffee, a little butter and needed nothing else.

the egg is what helps it rise though, I think less applesauce maybe If you dried that applesauce it would be like fruit leather

Although they taste great when you first eat them warm, if you let them sit awhile they start to get spongy and tough. epic failure , but I'm learning .
