Music From The Walking Dead
Over the 6 seasons there has been a lot of music introduced on the show
either thru Trailers, Ending Credits, or as background music in varies scenes ,some popular, but a lot by independent artists and or little known songs. They seem to have a good knack at fitting in the right music to the scenes shown. I've discovered some really good artists via The Walking Dead.
I will try to show the scene or trailer the music was used on, and then the original it came from. Season 1 was only 6 episodes and here are the songs used.
Season 1
The Walking Dead - Season One - Official Trailer
Song used for the Season One Trailer
The Walker Brothers - The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore
Rick Grimmes is trapped inside a Tank with Walkers all around, when he first encounters Glenn who helps him get out.
This is the first we are introduced to Glenn character. The music was the backdrop for the closing scene
The Walking Dead ''Hey You in the Tank''
The Walking Dead Season 1 - Space Junk by Wang Chung
Episode 6 finale
Rick and the group flee the CDC. This is where Rick learns that everyone is infected by the virus. And everyone will turn after dying.
Tomorrow Is a Long Time - Bob Dylan
Lyrics in spoiler
If today was not an endless highway
If tonight was not a crooked trail
If tomorrow wasn’t such a long time
Then lonesome would mean nothing to you at all
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin’
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin’
Only if she was lyin’ by me
Then I’d lie in my bed once again
I can’t see my reflection in the waters
I can’t speak the sounds that show no pain
I can’t hear the echo of my footsteps
Or can’t remember the sound of my own name
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin’
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin’
Only if she was lyin’ by me
Then I’d lie in my bed once again
There’s beauty in the silver, singin’ river
There’s beauty in the sunrise in the sky
But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty
That I remember in my true love’s eyes
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin’
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin’
Only if she was lyin’ by me
Then I’d lie in my bed once again
Much More to come season by seasonIf tonight was not a crooked trail
If tomorrow wasn’t such a long time
Then lonesome would mean nothing to you at all
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin’
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin’
